Peace River Violence Shelter Service provides a free and confidential assessment, shelter and related services to domestic violence survivors and their dependents including crisis intervention, problem solving skills, self-help groups, safety planning, information and referrals, and outreach services including external support group.
Domestic Violence Outreach Service
The Peace River Domestic Violence Outreach Service provides safety planning, information and referral, supportive counseling, and court accompaniment for domestic violence survivors upon request.
Victim Advocate Services
The victim advocate provides support, advocacy, crisis counseling, emergency cell phones, transportation and referral for all victims.
The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence Center provides crisis counseling and refers calls to the nearest domestic violence center. For more information, please visit www.fcadv.org.
DART is a program through the Lakeland Police Department. Officers are specially trained to respond to domestic violence disturbances. The DART Team provides contact with an advocate, information, referral and school-based counseling for children who witness domestic violence.
Victim Assistance Program
The Victim Assistance Program through the Lakeland Police Department provides up to $1,000 in relocation assistance for victims of domestic violence.
