Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser - 2016
Over 250 women (and a few brave men) attended WRC’s 2nd Annual Runway Fashion Show held at the Outback Oasis on March 5. The event was a fabulous afternoon sipping wine and sampling wonderful hors d’oeuvres, highlighting women from our community as they walked down the runway wearing the latest fashions provided by the community’s most renowned shops. Fashions were available for immediate purchase tying in to one of women’s favorite pastimes: shopping.
The addition of WRC’s “Men in Black” added that special nuance of being pampered creating a comfortable yet glitzy feel to the day.
The Silent Auction, a large part of the festivities, enticed patrons to bid on items ranging from a one-of-a-kind oil painting by local artist Holly Scoggings to a complete gardening basket including live plants and a unique elephant watering can. Proceed from the Silent Auction go directly to clients of WRC. A “Cash Call Challenge” generated over $1,000. These funds will be matched 2 for 1 by The WRC/Scheck Family Endowed Fund at Givewell Community Foundation. The endowed fund will sustain programs at WRC for years to come and is accepting donations anytime throughout the year.
