The Women’s Resource Center of Florida, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Polk County since 1983. Our mission is to provide a variety of services for women, men and families in crisis — helping every person who walks through our door leave feeling stronger, more confident and more self-sufficient. Your support keeps our food pantry stocked, our hygiene closet full and our doors open to anyone in Polk County who needs us.

We offer housing assistance, counseling, financial independence coaching, a food pantry and more — all under one roof, all free to those who qualify. Call us, walk in, or start an application online. If we cannot help you directly, we will point you to a resource that can.

WRC began in 1983 as a Junior League of Winter Haven service project. Four decades on, we are still powered by neighbors who give their time, their goods and their support. What started as a small group of volunteers has grown into a cornerstone of support for Polk County families.

Who we help.
Anyone in crisis deserves a path forward. Hundreds of individuals and families come to WRC each year facing homelessness, financial hardship, or simply not knowing where else to turn. We meet every person with compassion first — then connect them with the resources, programs and encouragement they need to move forward, toward stability, confidence and self-sufficiency. This isn’t a place defined by crisis. It’s a place defined by what comes next.
Thrift That Gives Back.
Cheep Boutique is the Women’s Resource Center’s thrift store, and it serves a dual purpose for our community. It’s where we fulfill clothing and houseware vouchers for clients working with our programs, giving them dignity and choice as they rebuild their lives. It’s also a vital source of funding, with every purchase the public makes helping power our services. Shop with us and your visit does double good: you find a great deal, and you help fund housing assistance, counseling, and other programs for families in need.
